PK77493: EDITED ATTRIBUTE VALUE IS NOT UPDATED BY 'SAVE' COMMAND ON THE DGIPEAVM EDIT FIELD ATTRIBUTES PANEL

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The customer edit attribute for PROGRAMMED SYMBOL SET on
  the DGIPEAVM EDIT FIELD ATTRIBUTES panel and attempt to update
  it by 'SAVE' command. But this change is not updated.
  SDF II should only allow the SAVE command when the fields
  changed in a panel are ready to be saved.In the case of the
  DGIPEAVM EDIT FIELD ATTRIBUTES panel this is not until return is
  made to the previous DGIPEE0 SELECT EDIT FIELD DIALOG panel.
  The SAVE command will be disallowed in the DGIPEAVM panel as the
  changes are not updated into internal until the panel is exited.

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  When editing a field attribute in the panel DGIPEAVM and the
  SAVE command issued then any modified attributes will not be
  saved if panel editing is exited without making any further
  changes to the panel object.
  

Problem conclusion

• The SAVE command is not allowed in the DGIPEAVM EDIT FIELD
  ATTRIBUTES panel as the changes are not stored in internal
  tables until return from that panel.
