PK76788: Numerous failed webservices connections lead to growth in outbound channel objects & OutOfMemoryError

Error description

If an SSL Certificate is corrupt it becomes likely that failed
connections do not get cleared from memory correctly.  In
addition to SSL connection errors in the logs, You might
see something like the following from a HeapAnalyzer analysis:

This ultimately fills up the heap which would cause multiple
OutOfMemoryException errors.  This problem was discovered in
6.0.2.17.

This OOM issue was proven to occur whenever the WebServices out
bound messages terminated with an exception.  This is true for
both the SSL and non-SSL WebServices situations.

Local fix

Setting the WebContainer Thread Pool min and max values to be
the same may reduce the occurrences of the OutOfMemoryError but
will not eliminate it given enough time and failed Webservices
connections.

Corrupted SSL certificates caused an OOM condition because the
failed connections were not property closed.

Problem conclusion

Failed connections are now cleaned up.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix packs 6.0.2.35, 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
