Error description

• Select a category in the "Restrict To" option of the
  Categories-section in the menu search criteria. If the
  references from this menu are viewed using the "View references"
  option on the UI, the reference from menu to this category will
  be listed as an "Unrecognized reference".

  Problem Description:
  
  1. Select a category, say cat1, in the "Restrict To" option of
  menu search criteria for categories (Menu Element Query ->
  Categories -> Further options -> Restrict To)
  2. Save this menu and "View References" for this menu.
  3. Select "Show references from this item"
  4. The context for this category (cat1) will be "Unrecognized
  reference"
  

Problem conclusion

• Analysis:
  
  The JCR property used to store the "Restrict To" categories did
  not have a mapping to a corresponding Reference class. This is
  why it shows up as an "Unrecognized reference".
  
  Solution:
  
  Created a new mapping in the
  referenceToReferenceClass.properties file as well as a new
  reference class.
