PK72907: UNABLE TO REMOVE USERS FROM AUTHOR, OWNER OR SECURITY FIELDS ON WCM OBJECTS WHEN THE LDAP DN INCLUDES BACKSLASH OR COMMA

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a user's Distinguished Name contains a slash character ("\")
    or a comma, or both, it is impossible to remove the user from
    the Author, Owner or Security fields on a WCM object using the
    "x" link or button provided in the Authoring UI. An example DN
    has the form: cn=Smith\, James. DNs of this type are commonly
    used in Microsoft Active Directory. All content Authors working
    with WCM 6.1 are affected. The issue was originally seen in
    WCM 6.1.0 with Cumulative Fix 5 (CF5) applied.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Unable to delete user with "," character in common name in
    authoring interface.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This fix replaces the string "\," in a users cn with "," to
    avoid this problem.
