Closed as program error.
Error description
WS-Security will cache UsernameTokens for JAX-WS clients when using the UNTGUIPromptCallbackHandler and not running on an application server. If the initial user name/password passed in results in a login failure on the server, the cached token is not removed from the cache on the client side and the prompt is never re-displayed to acquire a new user name/password. Because of this, all subsequent calls to the service will use the cached 'bad' UsernameToken. The only way to generate a new token is to stop and restart the client application.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server users of * * WS-Security enabled JAX-WS applications * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: WS-Security for JAX-WS applications * * is not removing UsernameTokens from * * the cache when the client receives a * * LoginFailure * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Install a fix pack that contains this APAR. * **************************************************************** WS-Security for JAX-WS applications is not removing UsernameTokens from its cache when the client receives a LoginFailure Axis fault from the service provider. UsernameTokens are only cached when the UNTGUIPromptCallbackHandler is in use. Even if a LoginFailure is returned from the service provider, the GUI prompt is never re-displayed to acquire a new user name and password. All subsequent calls to the service will use the cached 'bad' UsernameToken.
Problem conclusion
The JAX-WS WS-Security runtime was updated to remove UsernameTokens from its cache when a LoginFailure Axis fault is returned from the service provider. The GUI prompt will re-display for user name and password input. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.1.
