PK72337: DYNAMIC SSLCONFIG IS NOT LOADED CORRECTLY CAUSING SSL HANDSHAKE EXCEPTION

Error description

PROBLEM:

The dynamic SSLConfig is not loaded correctly at times, causing
SSLHandshakeException notifying that the truststores
should all be the same accross the border. However when handling
ADMIN_SOAP, dynamic SSLConfig was loaded completely.

To support setting unique Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
configuration for ADMIN_SOAP connection, the
security and administrative code use thread context to
set the appropriate SSL configuration. Occasionally, this code
sets an inbound connection information to an object which has
outbound connection information in AbstractJSSEProvider.class.
As a result, SSL code fails to set the proper SSL configuration
to an outbound SSL connection.

Problem conclusion

With this fix, the AbstractJSSEProvider class only sets an
outbound connection information into a thread.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.23 and 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the Recommended
