PK72088: DFSUOLC PROC GENERATED INCORRECTLY AFTER PK37127 08/09/24 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After application of PK37127 (UK39556), DFSUOLC procedure
  is generated incorrectly. &VERS was put over 72 column as next
  example.

  This is an error in GENPROCS macro at SEQ#01963700-01963800.
  .
  We tested DFSUOLC0 by specify VERS keyword manually.
  But it was rejected with next messages.
   BPE0003E AN ERROR OCCURRED PARSING DFSUOLC0 INPUT PARAMETERS
   BPE0003E AT CHARACTER 11
   BPE0003E FAILING TEXT: "0,,             "
   BPE0003E NUMERIC VALUE OUTSIDE OF LEGAL RANGE
  This error was detected if we specify MDID=0.
  MDID=0 had been worked before application of PK37127.
  This is because DFSUOLC0 SEQ#22672000 has incorrect RANGE
  specification.
                 REQUIRED=NO,RANGE=(1,99999999)
  Valid range must be (0,99999999).
  Also, DFSUOLC0 has a code to reject MDID=0 at SEQ#06500000.
  DFSUOLC0 should accept MDID=0.
  System Utilities Reference manual has next statement for MDID.
    This should be initialized to zero to indicate that the
    number of global online changes performed is zero.

  After APAR PK37127, the DFSUOLC0 utility fails with the
  following message when MDID=0 is specified:
   BPE0003E AN ERROR OCCURRED PARSING DFSUOLC0 INPUT PARAMETERS
   BPE0003E AT CHARACTER 11
   BPE0003E FAILING TEXT: "0,,             "
   BPE0003E NUMERIC VALUE OUTSIDE OF LEGAL RANGE
  MDID=0 is valid to be specified to initialize the OLCSTAT.
  
  The sample DFSUOLC0 proc shipped in GENPROCS generates
  sample JCL that is not usable. The &&VERS is generated in
  column 72.
  

Problem conclusion
