Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DFHMQ0710E MQRC=2018 after migrating to * * CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.2 * * and running the CICS-MQ Bridge. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** After migrating to CICS Transaction Server for z/OS V3.2 the customer is now using the CICS-MQ Bridge as supplied by CICS. The problem happens when a MQCIH contains a format field of CSQCBDCI for conversion of the message. CSQCBDCI is an alias for the CICS module DFHMQDCI, which is called for the data conversion. DFHMQCFC macros within DFHMQDCI call MQXCNVC, an entry point into DFHMQATB. DFHMQATB is expecting the first parameter passed to it to be either a CLOA or a QRPL. In the customers case it is neither of these, it is an ABLK, which is also valid. The validation fails and the HCON ERROR (2018) is issued.
Problem conclusion
DFHMQATB has been altered to also check for an ABLK being the first parameter being passed to it.
