Problem summary

*                      a NullPointerException may occur in     *
*                      HTTPSender                              *

* RECOMMENDATION:  Apply a fix pack containing this APAR       *

If there are many web services applications installed on an
application server, a java.lang.NullPointerException may occur
in com.ibm.ws.webservices.engine.transport.http.HTTPSender.

This problem usually manifests itself on systems that are
optimized to run the application server exceptionally fast,
causing more threads to run concurrently.

Problem conclusion

There was a static variable in HTTPSender that multiple threads
were attempting to initialize at the same time, causing the
NullPointerException.  The web services HTTPSender class
was updated so that only the first thread that ran HTTPSender
would initialize the static variable.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpacks 6.0.2.33, 6.1.0.23, 7.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
