PK69248: MOVE FAILS FOR DRAFT ITEM,IF DRAFT WAS CREATED FOR A LIVE ITEM, WITH ONLY READ ACCESS, THROUGH HAS EDIT ACCESS IN DRAFT STAGE

 

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • 1) User has two Site Areas
    2) Had a content in one site Area
    3) Has edit access in one site area. Read access to the live
    content in other site area.
    4) Creates a Draft of the live item, then moving to other fails.
    
    Note : All users have only read access to the live content
    items, but do have edit access in the Draft stage workflow.
    
    If they give edit access to the live content item, then create a
    draft/move it works. Customer do not want to give edit access to
    live content,
    
    Move fails for a draft item, if the draft was created for a live
    item with only read access, through for the draft workflow
    stage, user has edit access
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The draft and publish item has the same PAC security level, and
    the move engine check security against PAC.
