Error description
During syndication JCRExceptions were thrown during the purge operations which were not being handled correctly. This caused syndication to mark the items as purged, however the items were not removed from JCR.
Local fix
No workaround is available
Problem summary
During Syndication JCRExceptions were thrown on the subscriber that were not handled correctly during item purge . This resulted in items being marked incorrectly as having been purged whereas they still existed in the subscriber.
Problem conclusion
Syndication was marking item purge as a success even though the operation had failed due to JCR exceptions. We now mark the item as having failed on a JCRException and that way the operation will get attempted again in the next syndication cycle.
