PK66778: RENDERING LARGE SIZE PDM CAUSING OOM ALSO FIXES A NPE WHEN OPENING PDM DOCUMENTS AFTER STARTING OF SECOND SERVER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rendering large file size PDM will cause out of memory issue.
  
  Another possible scenario is customer is receiving a Null
  Pointer Exception when trying to view PDM documents in a
  multiple server environment after the second server has been
  started. In this scenario, PDM documents were able to be viewed
  on the first server but no new documents could be view when
  the second server was started unless they were first previewed.
  The following is the stack trace the customer was receiving:

Local fix

Problem summary

• Rendering large file size PDM will cause out of memory issue.  W
  hen processing the PDM data, the data transfers to memory
  unnecessarily.
  

Problem conclusion

• Stream the date instead putting it into the memory.
