The property will enable WebSphere application server to skip
TAI authentication in following condition
- Unprotected URI is accessed
- 'Use available authentication data when an unprotected URI is
accessed' is configured.

When unprotected URI is accessed, Simple and Protected GSS-API
Negotiation Mechanism - trust association interceptor
(SPNEGO-TAI) authentication is
invoked even when following two check boxes are
checked in admin console.
- "Authenticate only when the URI is protected"
- "Use available authentication data when an unprotected URI
is accessed"
According to the Information Center article below,
authentication should not be invoked when unprotected URI is
accessed.

This could cause "Write already obtained" error from
application if SPNEGO code obtains the Writer before the
application does.

Problem conclusion

This APAR introduces the following custom property at security
top level:
"com.ibm.websphere.security.performTAIForUnprotectedURI"
Default value is "true".

It can be defined from "Secure administration,
applications, and infrastructure > Custom properties.

If it is set to "false", SPNEGO-TAI authentication is skipped
when unprotected URI is accessed.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fixpack 6.1.0.21.  Please refer to the Recommended
