Error description

  • DB2DDF DDFL09 DB2INACTIVE defects pk62808 dpk62808 DCR DJ1061
    Also see APAR PK54350.
Accounting record IFCID 0003 QLAC field QLACMDWT contains a
non-zero value when maximum DBATs was *not* exceeded.
    The value is very small.
The field description in SNDSMACS(DSNDQLAC) does not accurately
    describe the field.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Incorrect QLACMDWT description. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The QLACMDWT description incorrectly indicates that a value is
only provided if the DB2 z/OS subsystem was in fact MAXDBAT
    constrained.
Due to the performance and throughput characteristics of DDF
Inactive Thread support logic, a non zero value may be provided
even though the subsystem may not have been MAXDBAT constrained
in which case the value will reflect a very small delay. This
delay significantly increases as the subsystem reaches or
exceeds its configured maximum number of Database Access agents
(DSNZPARM DSN6SYSP MAXDBAT, SYSPRMT, defined threshold). Minor
QLACMDWT delays may also be observed if DB2 was below the
MAXDBAT threshold but DB2 had to dynamically create a DBAT in
order to service the SQL. QLACMDWT description changes are
necessary in order to clarify its meaning.

Problem conclusion

  • DSNDQLAC has been changed to clarify the QLACMDWT description
    as follows:
      QLACMDWT TOTAL ELAPSED TIME SPENT
                WAITING FOR AN AVAILABLE
                DATABASE ACCESS AGENT.
