Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Extended Deployment *
    * Data Grid 6.1.0.1 using the ObjectGrid *
    *                 function.                                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ObjectGrid server ports were binding *
    * to all network interfaces on a host. *
    * Specifically, this problem was seen *
    * on the deployment manager process. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    ObjectGrid code was instructing the Channel Framework code to
    listen on all network interfaces instead of just the one
    specified.  The property setting of
    com.ibm.websphere.network.useMultiHome was not taken into
    account when making this decision. This fix now takes this
    setting into account.

    Checking to determine if the host name specified matches the
    current machine's host name was also removed to allow the
    server to start in a multi home environment.

Problem conclusion

  • The fixes will be included in Service Pack 6.1.0.2 for
    WebSphere Application Server Extended Deployment.
