    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: UNLOAD from an image copy on a table *
    * with fixed data shows significant CPU *
    *                      increase (2.3 times) compared to V8.    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply corrective PTF when available. *
    ****************************************************************
    UNLOAD from an image copy on a table containing only fixed
    length data and in reordered row format (RRF) showed
    significant CPU increase compared to V8. UNLOAD FROMCOPYDDN
    on a RRF table space or part was performing additional
    formatting that is only needed for tables containing variable
    length data.

Problem conclusion

  • UNLOAD from an image copy has been changed to bypass extended
    formatting if the table contains only fixed length data to
    improve CPU usage.
