Error description

  • With apar PK19203 applied, the customer is still receiving a
problem where when issuing an EXEC CICS WRITE
OPERATOR TEXT request with a TEXTLENGTH between 114
and 129, the text is not written to the console. The actual
length of the text is 52 characters. The WRITE OPERATOR
returns a NORMAL response, but the text messages are still
    not written to the console.

    ****************************************************************
PTF UK15442 does not fix the problem reported by APAR PK19203.
That is, for some combinations of TEXTLENGTH and the actual
length of the text in an EXEC CICS WRITE OPERATOR command the
text is not sent to the console even though the command returns
a NORMAL response. It is also possible for a line of blanks to
be issued when the length of the text makes the calculation of
TEXTLENGTH (length of text) greater than 69 in DFHSUWT.

PTF UK15442 changed DFHSUWT which should be part of DFHSIP31
and also exist as a standalone module but only DFHSIP31 was
built by PTF UK15442. The problem was caused by an error in the
    PTF build process.

Problem conclusion

  • UK15442
The error in the PTF build process has been corrected so that
future PTFs containing DFHSUWT will be correct.
