APAR status

Error description

  • When resetConnection is called a message is being logged when
    the DB2 driver does not support resetConnection which causes a
    performance problem for customers. Code will need to be changed
    to only attempt a resetConnection when the driver supports this
    function.

Problem summary

    Adapter code was attempting to reset all DB2 connections
    weither or not connection reset was supported by the
    DB2 driver. This was causing a significant performance
    problem.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Changed code to test if reset connection is supported by the
    DB2 driver. And only call reset connection in the case
    that this function is supported.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
    in cumulative fix 5.1.1.12 and fixpacks 6.0.2.13 and 6.1.0.1.
