Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: WebSphere Application Server version 6 * * application developers who use memory to * * memory session persistence and also * * (mistakenly) add atributes which can not * * be serialized at runtime. * * * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Exception due to non-serializable * * attributes in memory to memory session * * persistence. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** In memory to memory session persistence if atributes which can not be serialized at runtime are present then they cause non-serailizable exceptions at multiple places in Application Server code.
Problem conclusion
Code changes have been made. Exceptions occurring during memory to memory replication of non-serializable attributes is now handled gracefully by detecting at their first occurrence, and then not abortring their replication, and also logging appropriate messages into the stdout. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fixpack 6.0.2.13 and 6.1.0.2.
