PK16213; 6.0.2.6: updating EAR file removes jndi and connector names for connect

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The WAS 6.0.2 EAR Update API incorectly changes the JNDI &
  Connector names for Connector modules. We are hitting this
  problem in our Commerce code after we do a store publish which
  updates the EAR using the API.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: J2CConnectionFactory Name and JNDI      *
  *                      name of the resource adapter get reset  *
  *                      with default values, even when a file   *
  *                      of the application is updated.          *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  After installing the resource adapter, configure the
  J2CConnectionFactory Name and JNDIName. Once a file or partial
  application is updated, the J2CConnectionFactory Name and
  JNDIName are being reset with the default values.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix will allow updating the J2CConnectionFactory Name and
  JNDIName, only if requested to update them as part of the
  application update. Otherwise, it will keep the existing names.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion
  in fixpack 6.0.2.9.
