Problem summary

  • APAR NUMBER: PJ41193
    PRODUCT: z/TPF
    FUNCTIONAL AREA: SYSTEM INITIALIZATION PACKAGE
    SHIPPED IN PUT: 10

    ABSTRACT:
When building all programs for a base only system with
MSGSW=YES, XHA3 AND XHA4 can not be found.

    PACKAGE CONTENTS:
    Source Segments:
    (C) base/macro/sip/onlfil.mac
    (C) base/macro/sip/skfnsw.mac
    (C) base/macro/sip/skfunc.mac
    (C) base/macro/sip/sperr.mac

    Object Only Binaries:
    None.

    Configuration Independent Binaries:
    None.

    Support Files:
    None.

    OTHER BINARIES TO BUILD: NO
    None.

    COMMENTS:
XHA3 and XHA4 are built if control switch SB0003 is on. XHA3
and XHA4 are HPO segments and are only available to customers
who have the HPO feature. SB0003 should only be on in a HPO
environment but because of a logic error in skfunc.mac and
skfnsw.mac it was on if MSGSW=YES was coded in CONFIG. Also it
was discovered that SBMASS and SBSSGEN were being tested in
onlfil.mac. These bits can't be tested in onlfil.mac because
those bits are not valid until after gensip.mac is assembled.
The intent in onlfil.mac was to warn customers not to code
LOSTINT, SSIDNUM, SSIDMODS, SSIDRLTCOUNT or LIRECOVERY in a
non-BSS environment. In SIP we don't need to warn customers of
this. Ignoring what is coded is ok.

Problem conclusion

  • SOLUTION:
Segments skfunc.mac and skfnsw.mac were updated to not not
require XHA3 and XHA4 in a base only environment with message
    switching on.
Segment onlfil.mac was updated to remove checking for SBMASS
    and SBSSGEN
Segment sperr.mac was updated to remove message ONL019 which
was issued from onlfil.mac if this was a non-BSS system and the
onlfil.mac parameters LOSTINT, SSIDNUM, SSIDMODS or
    SSIDRLTCOUNT were coded.

    COREQS: NO
    None.

    MIGRATION CONSIDERATIONS: YES
    Functional, automation, and operation changes:
    Message ONL019 is obsolete

    BUILD COMMANDS AND INSTRUCTIONS: NO
    None.

    UPDATED INFORMATION UNITS: YES
