Problem summary

  • APAR NUMBER: PJ40974
    PRODUCT: z/TPF
    FUNCTIONAL AREA: DEBUG TOOL SUPPORT
    SHIPPED IN PUT: 10

    ABSTRACT:
    Implements the z/TPF Debugger CDB0
    CDBX_DebuggerTBTRegistrationTerminalUserExit user exit to allow
custom communication packages to specify terminal information.

    PACKAGE CONTENTS:
    Source Segments:
    (C) base/rt/cdbtbt.c
    (C) base/rt/cdbuxt.c

    Object Only Binaries:
    None.

    Configuration Independent Binaries:
    (C) base/lib/libCDB0.so
    (C) base/load/CDB0.so
    (C) base/obj/cdbtbt.o

    Support Files:
    base/lst/CDB0.map
    base/lst/cdbtbt.lst

    OTHER BINARIES TO BUILD: YES
    (C) <sys>/load/CDBX.so
    (C) <sys>/obj/cdbuxt.o

    COMMENTS:
The z/TPF debugger provides a trace by terminal feature to
allow users to specify terminal information to filter which
ECBs are candidates for debugging when using register by
program, function, SVC and system error features. The trace by
terminal feature in CDB0 keys off of the ECB type flag to know
how to interpret the terminal information.

With greater frequency, customers are implementing custom
communication support packages such as implementing TN3270
support. The assumptions made in CDB0 may not hold true for
ECBs started from a custom communication package. As such, this
user exit allows customers to tell the debugger code the
terminal information to be used in locating a debugger
    registration entry.

Problem conclusion

  • SOLUTION:
cdbtbt.c and cdbuxt.c have been updated to implement this new
    user exit.

    COREQS: NO
    None.

    MIGRATION CONSIDERATIONS: YES
    User exit changes:
    The new CDB0 CDBX_DebuggerTBTRegistrationTerminalUserExit user
exit is provided to allow custom communication packages to
    specify terminal information.
