Problem summary

  • APAR NUMBER: PJ40971
    PRODUCT: z/TPF
    FUNCTIONAL AREA: CLOCKS
    SHIPPED IN PUT: 10

    ABSTRACT:
Due to PJ36831, command ZDTIM STP INFO may display incorrect
    information.

    PACKAGE CONTENTS:
    Source Segments:
    (C) base/cntl/tpf_app_base.cntl
    (C) base/rt/cqbz.asm

    Object Only Binaries:
    None.

    Configuration Independent Binaries:
    (C) base/obj/cqbz.o
    (C) base/load/CQBZ.so

    Support Files:
    base/lst/cqbz.lst
    base/lst/CQBZ.map

    OTHER BINARIES TO BUILD: NO
    None.

    COMMENTS:
Command ZDTIM STP INFO obtains Server Time Protocol (STP)
information from the system clock area memory table. CINFC
R,CMMCLST points to the system clock area and macro SC0TM
describes it. The STP information in the system clock area is
initialized in restart. If the STP configuration changes, STP
interrupt logic will refresh the system clock area in memory.
However, if STP interrupts are disabled on z/TPF, changes to
the STP configuration are not reflected in the system clock
    area in memory.

On a processor that has STP enabled, z/TPF will disable STP
interrupts for the LPAR when the TOD clock on that LPAR is
local. When command ZATIM xxxx TOD GOOD or ZATIM xxxx TOD GOOD
SSTP or ZATIM xxxx LOCAL is used, the TOD clock will be local
on the LPAR where the command was input and STP interrupts will
be disabled. Therefore, when one of these commands are used,
the system clock area may not have current STP information and
ZDTIM STP INFO may display old information.

Problem conclusion

  • SOLUTION:
Command ZDTIM STP INFO has been updated. First, the system
clock area is refreshed with the most current STP configuration
information. Next, information for command ZDTIM STP INFO is
    obtained and displayed.
