  COMMENTS:
  Customer running TPF guest under VM performed a FICON director
  maintenance activity that took some CHPIDs offline. This caused
  persistent reset notification unit checks. The recovery at
  CJIXCD04 in CCSONS created multiple CPAG ECBs which ran the
  system out of common blocks while doing FDCTC CCW translation.
  Reset notification recovery should be limited to fewer retries
  and the CXFRC to CPAG should be bypassed if the failing I/O was
  initiated by CPAG.
  

Problem conclusion

• SOLUTION:
  Copy segment cjix.cpy of ccsons.asm has been modified to
  perform 16 reset notification retries rather than 255. The
  CXFRC to CPAG will be bypassed if reset notification is
  presented to a CPAG I/O request.
