    ABSTRACT:
    Due to PJ36565, error "CTIN0004E - PROGRAM CHECK IN
    INITIALIZATION - ABORTED" may be received.

    COMMENTS:
    When an IPL without clear or a ZRIPL is executed and a memory
    table has increased in size, it is possible that CTIN0004E
    Program check in initialization may be received. In this case
    the IPL will stop. A subsequent IPL with clear should prevent
    the CTIN0004E Program check in initialization error.
    
    When a memory table increases in size, less memory is available
    for VFA and VFA may need to be re-sized. If the machine
    supports enhanced Dynamic Address Translation (DAT), VFA will
    use enhanced DAT. As a result the size of VFA control areas and
    VFA buffer areas must be in 2 meg multiples.
    
    In CCCTIN ct40.cpy, the routine following label CT4VFBGET
    adjusts the size of the VFA control area and VFA buffer area if
    VFA could not be recovered on an IPL. The logic in this routine
    does not round the size of the VFA control and buffer areas to
    2 meg boundaries. As a result, the subsequent initialization of
    the newly allocated VFA control area will take an error if
    enhanced DAT is being used.
    

Problem conclusion

    CCCTIN ct40.cpy routine to recalculate the size of the VFA
    control area and VFA buffer area has been updated. The size of
    the VFA buffer area is rounded down to the next 2 meg boundary.
    The size of the VFA control area is rounded up to the next 2
    meg boundary.
