PI98548: DELETING INDICES FOLDER 11.0.11 CAUSES SEARCH TO STOP WORKING AFTER EACH SERVER RESTART

Error description

  • On Cognos Analytics, if you delete the Indices folder at any
    point, you will then need to start Cognos up again to regenerate
    the folder, this is provided as a workaround for customers who
    cannot use the search functionality for whatever reason, this is
    often a fix provided from support.
    
    On 11.0.11 it has been seen that, if any point, the user has
    deleted and regenerated this folder, when restarting the
    physical server, or the Virtual Machine, it will cause the
    search function to stop working, meaning each time you restart,
    you have to delete the Indices folder and regenerate it.
    

Local fix

  • Delete the indices folder after each restart and rebuild the
    folder through starting of Cognos.
