APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If there's some issue with the preTestSQLString, whenever the
  application requests a connection, an error will be returned
  and application cannot get any valid connection, and there
  might be large number of unhandled open connections to DB
  server established when doing preTest connections.
  

Local fix

• Correct the SQL error

  trying to initialize it (for example, if Connection.getSchema
  fails), the connection is leaked.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been updated to trap for errors during initialization
  and ensure that connection are properly closed out, so as to
  avoid connection leaks.
  
  The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
  fix pack 9.0.0.9.  Please refer to the Recommended Updates
