Error description
When having a bookmark/favorite URL of a Active Report output of type http://<webserver>:<port>/<virtual_directory>/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi /repository/sid/cm/rid/iCB94652D5E17422A8B2FE30CC6527009/oid/def ault/content/mht/content and click this after Cognos Session timed out in the same browser session then errors popup instead of Cognos Logon screen
Local fix
In Cognos Connection for the appropriate report click on "set properties - <report_name>" right next to the report On the top right find the link "View the search path, ID and URL" and click it See the "Default action URL:" If it is of type: http://<webserver>:<port>/<virtual_directory>/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi /repository/sid/cm/rid/iCB94652D5E17422A8B2FE30CC6527009/oid/def ault/content/mht/content then we need to change it. In this case click "Close" Go to tab "Active Report" For "Default Action" set "Run the report" Click OK Again, for the appropriate report click on "set properties - <report_name>" right next to the report. On the top right find the link "View the search path, ID and URL" and click it Copy out the "Default action URL:" which now is something like /cgi-bin/cognos.cgi?b_action=cognosViewer&ui.action=run&ui.objec t=%2fcontent%2ffolder%5b%40name%3d%27Samples..... Replace the URL in the bookmark/favorite with this URL In Cognos Connection for the appropriate report click on "set properties - <report_name>" right next to the report and undo the changes for "Default Action:" in the way change it back from "Run the report" to "View most recent report". Save it. Result: Although you open the report object link via URL /cgi-bin/cognos.cgi?b_action=cognosViewer&ui.action=run&ui.objec t=%2fcontent%2ffolder%5b%40name%3d%27Samples..... it will "View most recent report" and not execute/run the report. So the workaround is just to use a different URL.
