PI94223: DFHFC0313 AND DFHFC0314 MESSAGES NOT BEING ISSUED WHEN THEY SHOULD BE.

Error description

• Going through the areas of the CICS code for error
  handling involving Alternate Indexes we see the following for
  VSAM Component Checking:
  
  Component codes for logical errors (return code 8)
   FCVSBINC BIT(8) CONSTANT('01'X), /* Base cluster maybe
                                    /* incorrect
   FCVSAINC BIT(8) CONSTANT('03'X), /* Alternate index
                                    /* maybe incorrect
   FCVSUINC BIT(8) CONSTANT('05'X); /* Upgrade set maybe
  
  This is fine for z/OS VSAM. VSE VSAM will be returning in
  RPLFDB2 at x'26' in the RPL:
  
   RPLFDB2 Function type code:
   RPLFUPG X' 4' Upgrade processing
   RPLFAIX X' 2' AIX processing
   RPLFINC X' 1' Upgrade set is incorrect
  
  These do not match with what CICS has coded for
  Component codes for logical errors in DFHFCVS. We will never put
  out the DFHFC0313 and DFHFC0314 messages correctly. Also, the
  message description in the DFHFC0313 says:
  
   X'00' or X'01'--base cluster.
   X'02' or X'03'--alternate index.
   X'04' or X'05'--upgrade set.

  Code in DFHFCVS1 which checks the response from VSAM uses values
  x'03' and x'05' to test whether messages DFHFC0313 or DFHFC0314
  should be issued for these responses but, because these are the
  values for z/OS VSAM rather than z/VSE VSAM, the messages are
  not issued.

Problem conclusion

• DFHFCVS and DFHFCVS1 have been changed to test the correct z/VSE
  values of x'02' and x'04' for the alternate index processing and
  upgrade set processing error conditions, respectively.
  The z/VSE Messages and Codes Volume 3 Version 6 Release 1
  SC34-2684-00 and Version 6 Release 2 SC34-2684-01 manuals should
  be changed to remove the codes x'00', x'03' and x'05' from the
  explanation of message DFHFC0313. A description of message
  DFHFC0314 should also be added to the manuals.
