PI93835: ABEND S0C4-11 AT EQQWARSA+542 WHEN DYNAMICADD(NO) IN CONTROLLER RESOPTS AND DYNAMICADD(YES) IN BATCHOPT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• With DYNAMICADD(NO) coded in the controller RESOPTS and
  BATCHOPT having DYNAMICADD(YES) which is the default value,
  an operation is defined with a special resource that does not
  exist in the RD or CX and then an LT batch job is run.
  The operations is added into the CP in an ad-hoc
  manner (for instance as part of an application that
  is added to the CP via the 5.1 panel)
  
  The following abend is seen in the controller:

Problem summary

  *                      an abend could occur in WSA task        *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the PTF fixing this APAR               *
  ****************************************************************
  Abend can occur in WSA task when it tries to allocate
  a Special Resource (EQQWARSA) if the Special Resource index
  in the CP operation record is 0.
  This can occur if DYNAMICADD is disallowed both in DP and
  Controller
  

Problem conclusion

• A check has been added in EQQWARSA to avoid the ABEND.
