Error description

  • When a Federated repository is configured, the Liberty
server issues the CWWKS3005E message during server startup
due to a timing condition. The message issued is a follows,

CWWKS3005E: A configuration exception has occurred. No
UserRegistry implementation service is available. Ensure
that you have a user registry configured.

    ****************************************************************
When using a Federated repository, a timing window exists during
startup that causes no user registry implementation to be found
by the runtime. When this happens, the Liberty server issues a
CWWKS3005E message, similar to the following:

CWWKS3005E: A configuration exception has occurred. No
UserRegistry implementation service is available. Ensure that
you have a user registry configured.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was modified to avoid the race condition that causes
the CWWKS3005E when a Federated repository is configured.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix
pack 18.0.0.1. Please refer to the Recommended Updates page for
