z/OS Debugger service for IBM Developer for z Systems 14.1.2 IBM Debug for z Systems 14.1.2 --- Features --- -When using line mode, batch mode, full screen mode and remote mode with Debug Tool compatibility mode, and the EQAOPTS CEEREACTAFTERQDBG command is set to YES, after the user issues "QUIT DEBUG" and CALL CEETEST is hit, the debugger will start again. Before the change, CEETEST was ignored after "QUIT DEBUG". -When using line mode, batch mode, full screen mode and remote mode with Debug Tool compatibility mode, and compiling with the TEST(SEPARATE,SOURCE) option of the Enterprise COBOL V6.2 compiler, if the name of the side file does not match the PROGRAM-ID, the debugger will now be able to locate the side file, as long as it is in the specified datasets or directories. In addition, now when you specify the side file location, you can specify a z/OS UNIX System Services directory through a SET DEFAULT LISTING command, EQAUEDAT user exit, EQADEBUG DD card, or EQA_DBG_SYSDEBUG environment variable. COB0602T/K -When using Debug Tool compatibility mode and Enterprise COBOL V5 or V6, if setting an AT CHANGE breakpoint or a watch breakpoint on a COBOL varying length array, each time the size of the array changes, the new size will be used when determining whether to stop on the breakpoint. COB0501T/K COB0502T/K COB0601T/K COB0602T/K --- End Features --- --- Service --- -Breakpoint not honored with SUSAN,ON. (PI78480 at 13.1) -Debug Tool CICS SOS using Debug Tool showing 46 large near identical storage heap blocks (HANC). The problem is caused by fragmented memory. Most of the large heap segments show less than 2% allocated. (PI82875 at 13.1) -Load Module Analyzer does not set the first operand of LEINFO properly for Enterprise COBOL V5 and V6. COB0501T/K COB0502T/K COB0601T/K COB0602T/K -An ABENDS0C4 in module EQALMA+'4D1C'x is received when running the Load Module Analyzer. This intermittent abend can occur when processing an ENTRY vs a CSECT. (PI86554 at 13.1) -SOS in CICS when Debug Tool started in remote and a watch breakpoint is active. (PI86881 at 13.1) -ABENDS138 CICS AKEB when 2 CICS users start a Debug Tool session at the same time with STARTSTOPMSGDSN setup active. (PI86946 at 13.1) -Program Check at EQA0SRQ1+'207C'x in remote debug session when a Find Text in the source window is done after returning from a CALL. (PI86495 at 13.1) -The IMS Tranaction Isolation Facility DFSMSCE0 exit is causing ABENDS478 when IMS is stopped, indicated by "IMS CTL TCB ABEND-SYS 478". (PI90400 at 14.0) (PI85625 at 13.1) -ABENDS0C6 when a Debug Tool step command is performed on LRL or STRL assembler instruction. (PI87220 at 12.1) -IMS Transaction Isolation Facility updates: - LINK simulation no longer filters out IMS IVPs. - CEEOPTS data sets are now read and included as part of the inline CEEOPTS DD in the private MPR. -No account information generated in Debug Tool IMS Transaction Isolation Facility JCL card which leads to a JCL error. (PI87454 at 13.1) -Debug Tool IMS Transaction Isolation Facility abend in DFSMSCE0+'058A'x with DT IMS ISO setup active. (PI91350 at 13.1) -DTU option 8 JCL for Batch Debugging (and others that process JCL): When processing JCL which contains a statement like this //SYSIN DD *,SYMBOLS=JCLONLY can get an abend like this: CEE3204S The system detected a protection exception (System Completion Code=0C4) From entry point ProcessParms at compile unit offset +000001BE at entry offset +000001BE at address 26F75496. Private region is for Java, where the active MPP is for COBOL. (PI89515 at 13.1) -When using Debug Tool with SET EXPLICITDEBUG ON, unable to view content variables in automonitor of a second Enterprise COBOL V6.1 submodule that is called from a Enterprise COBOL V4.2 main module. COB0501T/K COB0502T/K COB0601T/K COB0602T/K (PI89795 at 13.1) -ABENDS0C4 in Debug Tool module EQA00TMM caused ABENDS0C4 in IMS MPR, which in turn caused IMS Control Region to abend with U113. EQA00TMM gets control for an STIMERM exit. Debug Tool is not active when the exit call is made by the Operating System. Debug Tool must have been active when the STIMERM SVC was issued, but out of the picture when the exit was called. Messages include: DFS0613I CTL RGN U113 DUE TO S0C4 U0000 DURING DL/I CALL IN MPP (PI90265 at 13.1) -ABENDU4088 in assembler session caused by large variable size and smaller STACK init size. (PI91762 at 13.1) -In IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) and IBM z/OS Debugger v14.0, source code is not displayed when debugging a COBOL program using menu Debug As > MVS Batch Application. (This is the host part of PI87786 at 14.0. PI87786 is against 5724T0700. This fix requires the client IDz 14.1.2). -z/OS Debugger session abends with short on storage (SOS) on a GETMAIN performed by CEECICS. The SOS occurs when an Enterprise COBOL V6 program compiled NOTEST is called. Analyzing the storage can shows 1000+ blocks of storage with incrementing storage blocks sizes. The size of the blocks increase by alternating x'90' and x'A0' bytes. The data inside the blocks is mostly binary equal. COB0501T/K COB0502T/K COB0601T/K COB0602T/K (PI81766 at 14.0) (PI80955 at 13.1) -When using z/OS Debugger to debug a 64-bit PL/I program, receive the following abends at the final statement: U4087 U4082 ABENDS0C4 (PI83142 at 14.0) -When debugging a Enterprise COBOL V4 program some variables are not displaying their values and instead only showing the following error: ?Expression Evaluation Failed?. The same problem is observed using IBM developer for z Systems (IDz) V14.0 while debugging in standard mode. (PI84728 at RDz 9.5.1) -When using standard mode, when a source file is moved after compilation, and the user indicates the new source file location to the debugger, the file name in the editor view will now show the new source location instead of the original source location. This is for C, C++, Enterprise PL/I, and Enterprise COBOL V6.2 when using "Show Source" instead of the default "Show Expanded Source". COB0602T/K (PI94033 at 14.0) -LIST TITLED WSS command fails when the Working Storage Section contains "01." with no name. (PI85007 at 14.0) -An abend UAKEA may occur in the CICS region when doing a remote debug of a CICS transaction, and an ABENDS0C4 in the zOS debugger. (PI85761 at 14.0) -IBM z/OS Debugger v14 Code Coverage for Debug Tool compatibility mode does not depict the last COBOL paragraph coverage correctly The last COBOL paragraph is depicted as 0 percent, but the lines depict it as green, and the program is covered at 100%. It works for standard mode. (PI91504 at 14.0) -The Load Module Analyzer is not showing all CSECTs when the result is sorted by Name (SORTBY=NAME). (PI86687 at 14.0) -z/OS Debugger is not starting up in remote debug session in CICS if DISPLAY ID is set to DBM.userid . (PI84256 at 14.0) -If you use an ISPF 0 to set a terminal type of 8. 3277KN or 9. 3278KN (which is a Katakana terminal type) and then go to Debug Tool Utilities option 4 and then 0 you get 2 messages EQAZ037E Invalid keyword INCLUDE found in member 0. INCLUDE ; and then an ISPF DIALOG ERROR error saying VARIABLE 'MPRDEBUG' IS SYNTACTICALLY INCORRECT. on VPUT (MprDebug,MprNoDbg,MprBmp) PROFILE (PI89417 at 14.0) -The following abends have been observed in CICS and Batch debug scenarios for Enterprise COBOL V5 and V6: ABENDS0C4 in EQARCEXP+0024B66A ABENDS0C4 in EQARCEXP+002501CA (PI90501 at 14.0) -ABENDS0C1 Abend occurs at job completion. The Abend happens when, through the debugger using standard mode, a PL/I program that calls a PL/I Subroutine completes and is ending. That is when the S0C1-01 is issued. -ABENDS0C1 in EQA00OHV+'8B2'x with IBM z/OS Debugger. IBM z/OS Debugger v14.0.0 while debugging a CICS transaction in Debug Tool compatibility mode, several occurrences of the following error messages are observed: EQA00OHV: LookupHook_Rc_NoHK. EQA9999E:Unexpected hook-Cannot resume (PI90931 at 14.0) -z/OS Debugger V14.1 hangs when you disable LE condition breakpoints in standard mode. (PI91901 at 14.1) -CALL CEETEST is not working properly for Debug Tool compatibility mode when using DBMDT (versus TCPIP). -IBM z/OS Debugger v14.1 does not stop in statically linked Compile Unit in standard mode. Other symptoms: AT ENTRY break points are not honored STEP INTO does not stop either CU is not visible in module pan (PI92961 at 14.1) --- End Service ---
