  • From IBM tech node, it indicates that that it is secure but out
    info security team requires us to mask axis2ns1 in the
    response.

Problem summary

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Need ability to overwrite the default   *
    *                      namespace prefix of "axis2ns1" in Web   *
    *                      services SOAP Fault.                    *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:  Install a fixpack which includes this APAR  *
    ****************************************************************
    The WebSphere Application server uses a default namespace
    prefix of "axis2ns1" in SOAP Fault messages if no namespace
    prefix i sconfigured in the WSDL for SOAP Faults. In order to
    hide the provider implementation details from a Web service
    client, some customers need the ability to overwrite the
    "axis2ns1" prefix in SOAP Faults.
    

Problem conclusion

  • This problem occurred because WebSphere Application server
    always uses the default namespace prefix of "axis2ns1" in
    SOAP
    Faults, if no prefix is configured for the Web service.
    Added a
    custom JVM property: jaxws.DefaultNSPrefix which can be used
    to
    specify the default namespace prefix in SOAP Faults.
    
    The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
    fix packs  8.5.5.14 and 9.0.0.8.  Please refer to the
