Error description
Using CICS TS 5.2, a long running transaction which uses a requester pipeline and makes EXEC CICS INVOKE WEBSERVICE command see a gradual increase in storage in CICS ECDSA. Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Task storage build up for long- * * running task issuing INVOKE SERVICE * * commands. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: . * **************************************************************** A long running task is acting as a web service requester with at least 1 SOAP header handler installed in CICS. A SOAP message is processed by CICS and as part of this processing a GETMAIN is issued for a PROGRAM_LIST. This PROGRAM_LIST storage used to be freemained after calling the SOAP handlers, but now that freemain is bypassed by CICS and the storage freed at task termination. This is not normally a problem for short lived tasks, but is for long running tasks making muliple INVOKE SERVICE calls. Keyword: ECDSA
Problem conclusion
DFHPISN has been changed to ensure the PROGRAM_LIST storage is always freemained.
