PI91125: IBM MQ z/OS V9: A dump contains only the application address space and does not include the MQ MSTR address space.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• An dump for an ABEND0C4 in an MQ module occurred.  The dump
  only contained an application address space.
  
  During dump capture there is a defect in V9 that prevents the
  correct list of address spaces from being dumped and that means
  the dump only contains the application address space - the
  queue manager address space has NOT been captured.  This makes
  completing the diagnosis process very difficult as we are
  missing most of the queue manager storage in the dump.

Local fix

• If the problem can be recreated, capture a slip dump.  For
  example, for an ABEND0C4-00000011:

  ACTION=SVCD,JOBLIST=(appjob,ssidMSTR),
  SDATA=(ALLNUC,PSA,SQA,CSA,LPA,TRT,LSQA,RGN,SUM,GRSQ),MATCHLIM=1,
  END
  
  where you substitute "appjob" with the appropriate application
  jobname and "ssid" with the subsystem id for the queue manager.

  In V9 code was changed in the module, CSQWDSDM, that invokes SVC
  dump generation. Instead of dumping the primary address space
  the home address space is being selected.
  

Problem conclusion

• CSQWDSDM has been corrected to also dump the primary address
  space.
