• Capture attached to DB2 V12.1.501 CM displays ASN0589I messages
  when it decodes DB2 V11 NFM SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS log records.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 1- We altered the column length for     *
  *                      CONDITION_NAME in IBMSNAP_ALERTS and    *
  *                      IBMSNAP_CONDITIONS tables from          *
  *                      char(18) to varchar(20) in defect       *
  *                      1066771. But monitor still writes       *
  *                      columns as char                         *
  *                      2- Capture attached to DB2 V12.1.501    *
  *                      CM displays ASN0589I messages when it   *
  *                      decodes DB2 V11 NFM SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS   *
  *                      log records.                            *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
  ****************************************************************
  1- Monitor should insert condition_name as varchar(20) when
  writing to IBMSNAP_ALERTS table
  2- DB2 V12 migration writes DB2 V11 NFM SYSCOLUMNS log records.
  Capture attached to DB2 V12.1.501 CM cannot decode the DB2 V11
  NFM SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS log records.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1- Change the variable type when writing to corresponding
  tables.
  2- Capture attached to DB2 V12.1.501 CM is fixed to decode DB2
  V11 NFM SYSIBM.SYSCOLUMNS log records.
  ASNCLP was not updated.
