PI90255: SEQUENCE NODE DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY APPEAR IN DESIGN VIEW WHEN CREATED

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• You may encounter an issue when using the XML tools in RAD (or
  RSAD) to
  create a sequence node in a XML schema (i.e XSD).
  
  Steps to reproduce
  
  1) Create a new XML Schema (XSD);
  2) Create a new type, then double-click on type to open the XSD
  editor - toggle the editor to the "Detailed" view;
  3) Right-click on the header of the type and select "Add
  Sequence"
  
  Expected results: a new [empty] sequence should be rendered in
  the type below the header;
  Actual results: empty space appears.
  
  Alternatively, you could add an element/element ref/any to the
  type, which will also create a sequence; it is not initially
  rendered in the Design view, but the sequence is added to the
  DOM and is visible in the Outline view.
  
  This appears to be a bug in Eclipse WTP; see -
  https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=526728
  

Local fix

• You can use one of the following three (3) workarounds:
  
  a) Switch back to the top level view and then drill down again;
  b) Switch to the source view and then switch back to the design
  view;
  c) Referring back to the "Steps to reproduce" in the error
  description above, after step 1, skip step 2 and go directly to
  step 3.

Problem conclusion

• This problem was fixed by adopting Eclipse Oxygen.
