PI85651: OVERLAY OF BSAM ICQE CONTROL BLOCK WHEN USING DWC WORKLOAD DESIGNER FUNCTION FOR JOBLIB SEARCH 17/08/25 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A hang in the controller task after a CHECK macro is issued
  following a WRITE request is seen. Analysis of dumps and traces
  shows a connection to the DWC workload designer lookup function
  for job library ( JCL ) information.
  .
  In order to see evidence of the ICQE overlay
  in a dump taken during the controller hang.
  use command IPCS SUMMARY FORMAT to view the
  TCB information.  For any TCB which was
  hanging at the time, look for the DEB
  information.  Usually the hang is caused
  by an overlay for a JT file (EQQJTxx)
  or EQQJBLIB file.  The DEB information
  includes a DCB locator.  Go to this
  address in the dump.  X'1C' from this
  point  (DCB+1C) is the pointer to the
  ICQE.  If you go to this address and
  the ICQE is overwritten by full words
  of zeroes X'00000000' then the overlay
  has occurred.

Problem conclusion

• EQQZPDS1 program has been fixed to use the correct length
  of DESERVE MACRO FORM LIST.
  The MACRO call with the wrong length was the origin of the
  overlay.
