Error description

  • Using Workload Scheduler 9.3 WAPL on ZOS, I am attempting to
    retrieve a JOBLOG from a TWS agent. The WAPL documentation
    details; SELECT JL will cause the job log of the selected
    operation to be output. If the job log has not already been
    retrieved then this will trigger a retrieval action and Workload
    Automation Programming Language will attempt the SELECT command
    again in accordance with the retry policy set by OPTIONS
    CONTENTION. When using the CONNTENTION parm in the OPTIONS, we
    are observing that the delay is not functioning correctly.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Two problems in WAPL are fixed: *
    *                      1) CONTENTION parameter not honored     *
    *                      2) EQQI207F Invalid keyword *           *
    *                         during a WSSTART command             *
    ****************************************************************
    This Apar fixes two problems in WAPL code:
    1. The CONTENTION parameter in WAPL OPTIONS during
       a SELECT JL is not honored.
       If the joblog is not available the job ends
       immediately without waiting the time specified in
       the CONTENTION parameter between a retry and another
    2. Following WAPL statement
          //SYSIN    DD *
       OPTIONS DBMODE(COPY)
       WSSTART WSNAME(CPUA) NEW_WSNAME(CPUC)
         DESCR('COPY OF A WS')
       ends with RC=0 and succesfully creates the CPUC workstation
       as a copy of CPUA but following error message is issued
       in the output:

       EQQI200I LIST WSCPUREC *(CPUC)
       EQQI207F Invalid keyword *
       EQQI299I Statement completed - RC=12

Problem conclusion

  • Both problems were fixed
