Error description

  • Plugin with intelligent management enabled breaks affinity.
    If
using WAS mem to mem replication and partition tables, the
    IM
plugin does not initially request the partition table form
    WAS
server. It is not learned until the first request is
processed. The partition table in in the $WSPT header on
    the
response. This is OK unless there is failover before any
requests have been processed on backup server.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When Memory-to-memory session replication has been configured,
Intelligent Management (IM) Enabled Web Servers break affinity
when handling session traffic if the IM Web Server has not yet
handled a non-affinity request to the target cluster. The loss
of session affinity under this circumstance is because the IM
Enabled Web Server does not populate Partition Table data until
it has received at least one response from a cluster member with
    memory-to-memory session replication enabled.

Problem conclusion

  • The sessions affinity loss caused by this scenario has been
addressed by altering the Intelligent Management (IM) Enabled
Web Server such that Partition Table data is populated during
    start-up.
