Error description

Customer application failed when starting on WAS v9.
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException:
org.slf4j.helpers.BasicMDCAdapter
cannot be found by slf4j.api_1.7.7

The application is picking up the SLF4J
adapter from the package in WAS_HOME/plugins with WAS 9
This internal package should not be exposed to the
application.

Websphere packages a version of SLF4J for use by weld,
but this instance of SLF4J was not isolated to Websphere's
internal classes and could cause problems if it was picked up
by a customer's application.

Problem conclusion

The instance of SLF4J packaged with websphere is now
correctly isolated to websphere's internal classes.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 9.0.0.5 and liberty 17.0.0.3.  Please refer to the
