APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A client disconnects and CICS issues a message and dump instead
    of handling the error silently by closing the socket.
    Code in DFHWBSR (PEEK) returns a non-zero return code that
    gets translated as WBSR_RESPONSE : WBSR_DISASTER (003) &
    WBSR_REASON : WBSR_LOGIC_ERROR (004). CSOL is running and the
    exception trace is :
    WB 0505 WBSR  *EXC* - WEBREQUEST_ERROR FUNCTION(PEEK)
    SOCKET_TOKEN()

    * (code X'0505') and system dump was *
    * given in module DFHWBSR when client *

    * RECOMMENDATION: .                                            *
    ****************************************************************
    A DFHSOIS INQUIRE_CONNECTION call is made to get the server and
    client IP addresses. It failed in BPXGetSockName(BPX1GNM) and
    return ENOTCONN which means the client has disconnected. The
    DFHWBSR PEEK code is handling any INQUIRE_CONNECTION failure as
    unexpected and that leads to the severe error.

Problem conclusion

  • DFHWBSR has been changed so that the severe error and dump is
    not issued when the client has disconnected.
