PI74715: SUBSCRIPTION START MAY FAIL FOR IDLE TABLES

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In an IDAA environment, the start of a Change Data Capture for
  z/OS subscription may fail for idle tables that have had
  replication-affecting DDL changes such as DROP COLUMN. The
  subscription will issue CHC0603W, CHC0860E messages and end in
  error.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: In an IDAA environment that uses        *
  *                      continuous replication, if a table was  *
  *                      idled upon a replication-affecting      *
  *                      schema change (for example, DROP        *
  *                      COLUMN), when the subscription is       *
  *                      restarted it will end in error with     *
  *                      CHC0603W, CHC0860E and CHC0102E events  *
  *                      in the event log.                       *

  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY CORRECTIVE SERVICE                     *
  ****************************************************************
  The code to load metadata for idle tables in an IDAA setting
  should not attempt to do further validation because the table
  is not being replicated.
  

Problem conclusion

• The module CHCSDTDB was updated to correct the issue.
  

Temporary fix

• Use IDAA administration to remove and re-add the table to the
  accelerator.
