PI73012: Unable to enable Websphere Extreme Scale SSL connection on Liberty Profile when using Java 8

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Websphere Extreme Scale SSL connection configuration does not
  take effect when running on WebSphere Application Server
  Liberty with Java 8
  

Local fix

• There are two circumventions if SSL is required and the APAR
  cannot be applied.
  
  1. If possible do not use all of these features:
  ejbLite-3.2
  beanValidation-1.1
  appSecurity-2.0
  jaxrs-2.0
  jsf-2.2
  jpa-2.1
  cdi-1.2
  
  Note other features such as webProfile-7.0 may enable all of
  these features.
  
  2. Remove the <wlp>\lib\features\elasticCacheSslDefault-1.0.mf
  This should prevent the default SSL configuration from being
  loaded.

  When WebSphere eXtreme Scale on Liberty is configured to use
  SSL, the configuration is not in effect when running under
  Java 8. This results in an error message saying SSL is not
  configured.
  

Problem conclusion

• An interim fix is available for this APAR upon request
