    * Message ICH408I issued when starting an MQ listener with *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When starting an MQ TCP/IP listener with TCPSTACK=SINGLE, a
    TCP/IP socket is opened before the listener TCB has established
    affinity to the TCP/IP stack named in the TCPNAME parameter.

    Where access to any additional TCP/IP stacks on the system is
    prohibited by RACF security controls on the EZB.STACKACCESS.**,
    EZB.INITSTACK.**, or EZB.** profiles for class SERVAUTH then
    message ICH408I may be issued.

    This is caused by the listener TCB failing to set an affinity to
    the configured TCP/IP stack, prior to opening a socket to test
    the available protocols.

Problem conclusion

  • Processing has been amended to ensure that affinity to the
    TCP/IP stack named in the TCPNAME parameter is established prior
    to opening a socket.
