Problem summary

  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  SQL Statement objects created during the normal processing of
  the Database Logger were not closed until the connection to the
  database was closed, either under controlled conditions via
  shutdown or temporary connection loss.
  
  This caused a resource leak in the database, which eventually
  caused the database to issue an error indicating the connection
  had tried to open more than the maximum number of statements.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code has been altered to ensure that SQL Statement objects
  are periodically closed, thereby preventing the resource leak.
