APAR status

Error description

• Customer is using File Manager DB2 with XML using a large amount
  of data and this results in the ISPF session to loop.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When editing a large XML document using *
  *                      the XMLEDIT command, FM/DB2 goes into a *
  *                      loop.                                   *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *

  A logic error results in the loop.
  

Problem conclusion

• File Manager DB2 component has been updated to correct the
  problem.
  Note that this APAR makes changes to FM/DB2's support for edit
  of large XML (>1 MB) documents.  The size of the XML document
  that can be edited using FM/DB2 component is limited by one or
  more of these constraints:
  1.  The user's TSO region size.
  2.  The size of the temporary data set used to store the XML
  document.
  3.  Disk space contraints.
  4.  DB2 installation values, in particular the LOBVALA
  parameter, which sets a limit on the amount of LOB storage
  available to a user to store LOB data.
