Error description
A sysplex distributor stack that distributes connections to a target using QDIOACCELERATOR will not delete the associated Connection Route Hash Table Entry (CRHTE) when the connection ends. The obsolete CRHTE entries will be reused and therefore limit sysplex distribution. Verification Steps: Is QDIOACCELERATOR configured? D TCPIP,,N,CONFIG output: QDIOACCEL: YES D TCPIP,,N,VPDT,DETAIL output ACTCONN: xxxx The active connections to a target does not match the ACTCONN value. Do you have CRHTEs using QDIOACCELERATOR? D TCPIP,,N,VCRT,DETAIL output: ACCELERATOR: YES Do you have an active matching connection for each CRHTE? D TCPIP,,N,CONN If not you may have obsolete CRHTEs. Is a CRHTE in a state that it will not be deleted? A dump of TCPIP and the TCPIPCS XCF DETAIL report will show CRHTEs. If the Connection Route Hash entry Flags2: has bits C0200000 turned ON, the CRHTE may not be deleted when the connection ends.
Local fix
Remove QDIOACCELERATOR from the PROFILE in the sysplex distributor stack. Recycle TCPIP distributor stack to recover.
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * * All users of the IBM Communications Server for z/OS Version * * 2 Release 1 and Release 2 IP: Sysplex Distributor with QDIO * * Accelerator (QDIOACCELERATOR) * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * * Syeplex Distributor maintains CRHTE (netstat VCRT display) * * entries after the connections have terminated. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * * Apply the PTF * **************************************************************** Sysplex distributed connections are maintained in the CRHT table as CRHTE entries and should be deleted when the connection terminates. However, some of these entries are not being removed during termination processing because the XFCRHTE_DelayDelete is incorrectly set.
Problem conclusion
Code has been updated to ensure the XFCRHTE_DelayDelete is only set in the correct circumstances.
