Comments

  • Rollup Multiplatform 9.5.0.6 fixpack.

    A list of the MP APARs incorporated in the 9.5.0.6 rollup can
    be found in the OnDemand MP 9506 FP Readme at:
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27048379

    Several enhancements have been made to ODF:

    1. Banner in separate SYSOUT dataset

    Allow users the option of creating a SYSOUT dataset for banner
    pages separate from the report. A new ODF parm in the ars.cfg
    file, ARSODF_BANNER_ALLOC_PARMS, has been added to specify the
    allocation information to use when allocating the banner sysout
    datasets. When ARSODF_BANNER_ALLOC_PARMS is specified, ODF
    will allocate a separate SYSOUT dataset for all banner pages
    for all distributions. The SYSOUT dataset will be allocated
    using the values specified in ARSODF_BANNER_ALLOC_PARMS and the
    class and destination specified in the report bundle definition.

    Example use:

                ARSODF_BANNER_ALLOC_PARMS=FORMDEF(DUMMY)

    In addition a new banner page type E has been added to
    the end of the distribution. When
    ARSODF_BANNER_ALLOC_PARMS is specified, the Banner exit will
    be called with type E. Users will need to update their banner
    exit to either create an end of distribution page or add the
    following to arsodfxb.cob

                when ODFBANER_Banner_End
                Move x'00'  to ODFBANER-PRINT-FLAG.

    Note: When using this parameter you should also specify report
    break yes on your distributions that contain multiple report
    bundle definitions.

    2. Schedule reports for print processing only if needed

    An SQL precheck option has been added to the ODF main task.
    This option will ensure that the SQL statement specified in the
    report bundle definition is found in the available report before
    creating the processed report request. This option will
    eliminate processed report bundles ending in ARS04414E and
    ending in error because the SQL specified was not found in the
    report. A new parameter, -f , has been added to the arsodf
    command.  For example on z/OS:

                   //ARSFD950 EXEC PGM=ARSODF,REGION=0M,
                   //    PARM=('/-I instance -S -f -v  ')

    Requested Distributions will be submitted for print processing
    with only the report bundles that contain hits in the
    available reports. Requested distributions that do not have any
    any hits in the loaded reports will be marked complete without
    any processed report bundles.
