Error description

  • When running File Manager Data Set Compare (DSM) function with
    options DDOLD and DDNEW, and the data sets are of the same name
    and uncataloged on different volsers, receive msgFMNBB291:
    
     FMNBB291 The user canceled the function, or the function could
     not be performed
    

Local fix

  • Use DSM options DSNOLD/VOLSEROLD and DSNNEW/VOLSERNEW

    *                      specified via DD cards.                 *
    *                      2. Batch Compare (DSM) issues           *
    *                      msgFMNBB301 "DDNEW/DSNNEW=DDOLD/DSNOLD" *
    *                      and terminates when the data sets being *
    *                      compared have the same name and are     *
    *                      specified via DD cards.                 *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the provided PTF.                      *
    ****************************************************************
    

Problem conclusion

  • File Manager has been modified to correct these problems.
